Gowfers creamed by Bathgate
Bathgate 4 Carnoustie Panmure 2
Still looking for their first competitive win of 2007, Carnoustie Panmure travelled to Creamery Park to face Bathgate Thistle in the Whyte and Mackay East Super League on Saturday afternoon.
But goals from Ralph Brand and Gary Bollan were not enough for the Gowfers who went down 4-2 with Thistle striker Elliot bagging a second half hat-trick.
It was the fourth meeting of the sides this season and with the Gowfers having won two of the previous three and drawn the other, they had high hopes of returning with all three points and so strengthen their third spot in the league.
Due to work commitments, team captain Gary Ogilvie was unavailable and his place was taken by Gary Bollan.
Recent signing John McCafferty made his debut between the sticks, with 'Chipper' Whyte dropping to the bench where he was joined by Grant Miller, James Russell, James Collier and Kevin Steele.
A more detailed report will be available soon.
