GOWFERS TWICE SURRENDER LEAD IN PERTH
Kinnoull 2 Carnoustie Panmure 2
Despite twice taking the lead, Carnoustie Panmure in the end had to settle for a 2-2 draw with bottom-of-the-table Kinnoull in a Whyte and Mackay East Super League fixture at Tulloch Park, Perth, on Saturday afternoon.
Goals from James Russell and Gary Ogilvie were cancelled out by a Robbie Holden brace, which earned the home side only their second league point of the season.
After missing the Gowfers' last couple of games, Daryn Smith had recovered from the 'flu bug and was on from the start as were Kevin Steele and Ralph Brand, who shared seven goals in the previous week's friendly away to Arbroath Vics.
Grant Miller, Gary Bollan and Aaron Conway dropped to the bench where they were joined by Steven Narey and assistant manager George O'Boyle.
To give some added spice to the game, Carnoustie players "Chipper" Whyte, Iain Wilkie and the injured Wayne Morrison have all seen service with the home side, while Graham Nicol, Gary Christie and Andy Mackie have all previously worn Gowfers' colours.
A more detailed report will be available soon.
