Ballingry Rovers Versus Carnousite Panmure

NINE-MAN GOWFERS CRASH AT BALLINGRY

Ballingry Rovers 4 Carnoustie Panmure 1

Carnoustie Panmure's away league fixture against Ballingry Rovers on Saturday afternoon was called-off just an hour before kick-off after torrential rain left the Ore Park playing surface heavily waterlogged.

The game was hurriedly re-scheduled for Wednesday evening and this time went ahead with Ballingry winning 4-1.

After Andy Reilly had missed an 18th minute penalty, Aaron CONWAY put Carnoustie ahead with a great first-time volley on the half-hour, but Ballingry hit back with a Craig SMART brace in 37 and 38 minutes, the second of these coming from the penalty spot after Alan Campbell had been red-carded for a last-man offence.

Shortly after the restart, Paul DUNCAN headed Ballingry further ahead, and the home side then sealed their victory with a fourth through Lee DAIR just four minutes from time.

It was a disappointing night for the Gowfers, who were forced to play most of the second half with only nine men after Jim Scott received a second yellow card and his marching orders in the 53rd minute.
