Manager Iain Flaherty arranged the friendly against Brechin Vics to give the players a change from the usual Monday night training session and also give the guys who have not featured that much this season and those coming back from injury, a chance to improve their match fitness.The first half was controlled by the Gowfers and never looked in any danger however it take the Gowfers a while to get on the scoresheet.
Several chances went astray until the Gowfers eventyually took the lead when Cook disposessed Vics left back just outside the box after a short throw out from the Vics 'keeper, and laid the ball across the face of the goal where STEELE stood unmarked and knocked the ball into an empty net.

Vics came more into the game and had some good chances within the first 10-15 minutes of the second half however could not find a way past Carnoustie 'keeper Gourlay.Vics 'keeper had made a string of good saves throughout the second half from McGlaughlin and Collier in particular, however later in the second half a deep cross from the right from NAREY eluded the 'keeper and cannoned in off the far post into the net, effectively cancelling any hope Brechin Vics had of taking anything from the game.
