Carnoustie Panmure 6 Oakley United 2
Oakley had wind advantage in the first half and straight from the kick-off forced a corner on the right, but Fyfe's cross was too strong and curled wide of the far post for a goal kick.Balfour then put in a good cross from the right, which was well held by Gourlay at his left-hand post.
The referee was obviously keen to stamp his authority on the game from the start and with just five minutes gone Robertson was booked for a foul on Celantano.
Three minutes later, Carnoustie made their first real sortie up the park and opened the scoring after winning a corner on the right. Clark's cross picked out REILLY, who powered a header past the 'keeper from inside the six yard box.
The Gowfers continued to press and following a foul by Campbell, Clark's free kick from just outside the right-hand corner of the box was punched clear by Parkyn from off the top of Voigt's head.
In 17 minutes, Robertson was injured in a midfield clash. He had to leave the field for treatment, but resumed a couple of minutes later.
Voigt was again fouled by Campbell, this time 35 yards out. Smith took the resultant free kick and set up Reilly, whose fierce strike was blocked in the crowded goalmouth and rebounded clear up the park.
In 20 minutes, Voigt was fouled inside the box by Lumsden, who was duly booked. VOIGT took the spot kick himself and, sending the 'keeper the wrong way, found the bottom left-hand corner of the net to double the Gowfers' lead.
Carnoustie were well on top at this stage and notched a third just four minutes later. Muhsin worked a neat one-two with Reilly before crossing to SMITH, who from just inside the box first-timed a shot high into the roof of the net off the inside of the right-hand post.
Reilly then chased a long through ball from Narey and managed to get in a shot, but put the ball wide of Parkyn's right-hand post.
In 31 minutes, however, the Gowfers found themselves under pressure after the referee awarded an indirect free kick against 'keeper Gourlay for holding the ball too long. Lammie touched the ball to Fotheringham, whose shot went through the defensive wall, but Gourlay was right in line and gathered the ball safely.
Fotheringham again came close for Oakley when he collected a long through ball from Galbraith and fired a shot just wide of Gourlay's left-hand upright.
In 39 minutes, Lammie fouled Clark in midfield and a free kick was awarded to Carnoustie. Clark required treatment and before play resumed Lammie was shown a straight red card for an alleged stamping incident spotted by the referee's assistant.
Despite being down to 10 men, Oakley almost pulled a goal back when Bannatyne put in a good cross from the right, but Celantano headed straight at Gourlay from eight yards.
Smith then got down the left for Carnoustie and crossed to Voigt, who had his back to goal, but controlled the ball before trying a great overhead kick, which struck the crossbar and rebounded clear.
Just on half-time, Voigt got in another shot, but this time his close-in effort was blocked away by the 'keeper.
Half Time : Carnoustie Panmure 3 Oakley United 0
Both sides made a change at the interval, Hendry replacing Robertson for Carnoustie, and McMahon taking over from Celantano for Oakley. The Fifers may have harboured hopes of a second half fightback, but the Gowfers had other ideas and within a minute of the restart had scored a fourth. Clark took a free kick on the right and picked out VOIGT, who headed home from six yards, giving Parkyn no chance.
Oakley refused to lie down, however, and in 48 minutes McMahon fed a through ball into the home box and the unmarked BANNATYNE fired past Gourlay from 12 yards.
In 60 minutes, Bannatyne was booked for dissent.
Carnoustie were caught napping again in 63 minutes when BALFOUR was allowed to get his head to a Bannatyne corner and, although Hendry appeared to scramble the ball clear, the referee's assistant signalled that the ball had in fact crossed the line and a goal was given.
Narey was booked in 66 minutes for a foul on Fotheringham.
Carnoustie went three up again in 71 minutes when a Conway long throw fell to REILLY, whose initial shot was blocked by the 'keeper, but he followed up to hammer the rebound into the far corner of the net.
Ten-man Oakley were still trying to make a game of it and in 83 minutes the Gowfers had a slight scare after Scott was dispossessed in midfield. McMahon was quickly on to the loose ball and fed a through pass to Bannatyne, but he shot weakly past from the edge of the box when he should have done better.
In 85 minutes, Voigt was flagged offside, but proceeded to lob the ball over the 'keeper's head and found himself yellow-carded for kicking the ball away.
Substitute Hall then won a corner on the right off Galbraith. Clark's cross fell to Conway, who drove the ball home , but with Voigt again in an offside position, the 'goal' was disallowed.
The referee made another booking in 88 minutes when Campbell saw yellow for dissent.
A minute later, Carnoustie were awarded a free kick 35 yards out on the right-hand side of the park and Conway duly dispatched the ball over the 'keeper's head into the roof of the net. However, the referee had spotted something wrong and ordered a re-take, but this time Conway's effort was just too high and cleared the crossbar.
A couple of minutes into stoppage time, Carnoustie rounded-off the scoring with a well-deserved sixth counter. A Conway corner was knocked down by Hendry to COOK, who blasted the ball past Parkyn from 10 yards, giving the Gowfers a comprehensive 6-2 victory and a useful three point lead at the top of the East Premier League.
