Penicuik Athletic 0 Carnoustie Panmure 4
Carnoustie kicked off, playing up a slight slope and with a gentle south-easterly breeze at their backs. Conway took the ball up the line and sent in a deep cross looking for Reilly, but Livie got up well to take it cleanly. In 18 minutes the Gowfers opened their account. Voigt sent in a good ball to REILLY, who hooked it home from eight yards, despite appearing well offside.
From the centre, the homesters surged forward and Jones won a free kick off Scott at the edge of the box. Montgomery took the kick, but Smith got up well to head clear.
Then a Conway corner picked out Collier, who sent his free header narrowly past Livie's left-hand post.
From the 'keeper's goal kick, play swung right to the other end and it was the home side's turn to come close after Montgomery dropped a cross right into the goalmouth. Jamieson could only palm the ball away and it fell to McDonald, whose shot found the side-netting.
As Penicuik pushed forward, McDonald fed Montgomery, whose effort was blocked by Campbell. The ball dropped out to Barr, who skied his shot high over the top.
At this point, Penicuik seemed to be coming more into the game and forced two corners in quick succession. From the second of these, Milne's cross was nodded on by Barr, but Foster sent his header wide of Jamieson's right-hand post.
Back came the Gowfers, and with 45 minutes on the watch and the half-time whistle about to sound at any moment, Clark made a run up the left, but lost possession as Gallagher put in a tackle. However, the ball broke to SMITH, who curled a great shot into the top corner of the net, giving Livie no chance.
