GEORGE "PUD" HILL
George, or as he answered to, "Pud" died suddenly on Thursday 4th August 2005 at his home in Dundee.
He had been the Kit Man for Carnoustie Panmure Junior Football Club for the past four seasons and saw the transition of the club from the First Division to the Super League and was party to our success in Season 2003/04 when we won the O.V.D. Scottish Junior Cup.
By his wealth of experience in both the amateur and junior game and with his knowledge of the capabilites of many of our players, he was able to encourage and lift them to a level, which they did not realise they could achieve.
A man who never minced his words with anyone, he was renowned for his vocabulary and presentation, which could cajole anyone into taking on baord his advice, whether it be ball boy, player or committee member.
George came late in assisting Carnoustie Panmure to the accolades of Junior football but this was achieved by his back room assistance, his personal encouragement with a sense of humour that always prevailed, carrying the hopes and expectations of the players and club, ultimately, taking the club name to the highest level in Scottish Junior Football circles.
Football came second to his love for his wife, Jean and family and we, The Club, offer our condolences to them, in the passing of a man, much respected and to be rembered, by our Club and Junior Football for his help and humour, that he shared with us all.
