A BIG MC DOUBLE FOR PANNY

GREAT PERFORMANCE TAKES ALL THREE POINTS

Carnoustie climbed to ninth in the Super League just three points off the top five after a deserved victory against Hill Of Beath at Laing Park.

Alan McSkimming, who had spent most of the week in his sick bed, had to make changes to the side that drew at Musselburgh last weekend and brought in teenager Bailey Steel for his full debut in place of Liam Scott and Jamie McCabe in place of Scott Gray.

Panny started off on the front foot and took a deserved lead on 11 minutes when McCabe slotted the ball home after great work by Gordon Macdonald. Ten minutes later and it was 2-0, Macdonald picked the ball up 25 yards from goal and hit a sweet shot beyond Stuart Hall and in to the top corner of the net.

Despite controlling the second half Panmure failed to add to their tally including seeing a Macdonald penalty saved by Hall but McSkimmings men comfortably repelled the visitors to take a valuable three points.

A great performance by the team who where led by example by Man Of the Match Steven Cook although he was ran close by several others. A special mention goes to Bailey Steel who was exceptional in the middle of the park and Ryan Roche at the centre of a solid defence.

Next week its a break from Super League action as Islavale visit Laing Park in the G A Engineering Cup
