Carnoustie Panmure 0 Dundonald Bluebell 4
A poor second half display by Carnoustie allowed Dundonald Bluebell to enjoy a comfortable 4-0 victory at Laing Park on Saturday afternoon.
Gowfers boss Alan McSkimming was able to welcome back Steven Cook and Derek Paterson to the side that drew 3-3 at Broxburn last time out but winger Robert Urquhart failed a fitness test and was replaced by Sam Simpson.
The first half was a even with neither keeper having a real save to make until the 42nd minute when Colin Wilson was allowed a free header from a throw in to put the visitors in front. As the first half ended Luke McGeehan received a yellow card for his reaction to an incident involving Dundonald’s Archie Campbell that the referee and his assistants failed to see.
The second was a poor affair as far as The Gowfers were concerned, the visitors made it 2-0 on the hour mark, a corner wasn’t dealt with by the Carnoustie defence and when Lewis McKenzie smashed the ball back across goal, Craig Wedderburn stabbed the ball home. Ten minutes later it was three, a Wilson free kick was headed clear by Adam Harwood but the ball fell to Campbell on the edge of the box and he rifled the ball past Alan Cormack in to the bottom corner. The visitors were well in control and the fourth goal came on 80 minutes and again it came from a Wilson free kick, the free kick was floated in to the box flicked on by Callum Smith and McKenzie held off Bailey Steel to steer the ball past Alan Cormack.
A very disappointing day at the office for Carnoustie with a disappointing lack of desire and poor decision making throughout the second half, things will need to improve ready for next weeks Scottish Junior Cup tie against Petershill.
