Bo’ness Utd 2 Carnoustie Panmure 1
Carnoustie returned from Bo’ness dissappointed not to take a point from a game they could have won.
The Gowfers went in to the game with only 4 subs with only one fully fit. The homeside took the lead on 22 minutes when Adam Harwood was adjudged to have conceded a penalty despite the offence being clearly outside the box. Chris Donnelly scoring from the spot. Carnoustie weren’t downhearted and deservedly equalised ten minutes before the break when Pat Martin glanced home a Sam Simpson cross.
United restored their lead just after the hour when Jack Wilson turned the ball home. Carnoustie fought back and should have been awarded a penalty when Jamie McCabe was hauled to the ground but the referee waved play on. Pat Martin had been the subject of some heavy challenges and on 75 minutes appeared to receive a flying boot to the chest that poleaxed the Gowfers striker, again tne challenge went unpunished. Despite finishing the better team, Panmure couldnt find an equaliser and went down to an opening day defeat.
