The Gowfers made it three wins from their opening three games after a 4-0 win over Dundee St James on Saturday after noon at Laing Park.
With manager Phil McGuire en-route to the game from Glasgow Airport, Paddy Conway made three changes to the starting line up, Ryan Dignan, Gordon Macdonald and Bailey Steel, who had himself arrived back in the early hours came in with Dale Reid and Kieran McWalter dropping to the bench and Kieran Conway unavailable.
The Gowfers eventually ran out 4-0 winners but it needed the hair dryer treatment from Phil McGuire who was straight off a plane, to kick start their performance.
The Gowfers led 1-0 at half time after Gordon Macdonald tapped the ball home ten minutes before the break, and then on the hour mark, Pat Martin continued his excellent start to the season, when he smashed the ball home after good work by Ross Fraser. Last season’s top scorer, Dale Reid, came off the bench and after hitting the bar, post and forcing the keeper into a great save with previous efforts, found the back of the net on 86 minutes before the impressive Fraser added his fourth goal of the season to complete the scoring.
The Gowfers have now scored 12 goals in three games, Ross Fraser with 4, Pat Martin with 2 with a goal apiece from Ryan Roche, Rhys Hoon, Sam Simpson, Ryan Suttie, Gordon Macdonald and Dale Reid
We move on to another midweek game and travel to Thomson Park to take on Lochee United on Wednesday night
