CARNOUSTIE IN TALKING POINT INITIATIVE

TALKING POINT is a new initiative from Carnoustie Panmure FC designed to get men talking about their state of mind in a relaxed, safe environment.

It is hoped that initial sessions will take place on a monthly basis starting in November at Laing Park and led by Carnoustie Panmure’s Chaplain, John Toller.

General Manager Mark Johnson said “At Carnoustie Panmure we were one of the first Junior clubs to appoint a Club Chaplain, initially we saw that it was part of our responsibility to our players for their wellbeing now we want to take his involvement further and after discussions with John, we have decided to open things up to the wider Panmure family across Carnoustie, although supporting The Gowfers is not a pre-requisite to attend.”

“The focus on mental health, especially for men, is getting bigger and we want to be at the front of that movement as much as we can. A lot of work is focused on physical health and we want to be able to provide the same services for mental health too which is traditionally a difficult topic of conversation for men.”

The Official Launch of Talking Point will be at the clubs Sportsman’s Dinner at The Woodlands Hotel on Saturday 20th October
