Bonnyrigg Rose away is always a difficult place to go and take points, and last Saturday was no different for us!
It was a really frustrating performance for me to watch because we never really got going until the second half, and by that stage we were 1-0 down. Once we did get into our stride we started to take control of the game and creating chances, but we lacked quality in the final third to really capitalise on it.
The killer blow came 5 minutes from time when Bonnyrigg were awarded a soft penalty. I felt that our defender played the ball before their striker, but the referee seen it differently and awarded the penalty which they converted to close the game off at 2-0.
I did not have too much complaints about the scoreline however I was disappointed with our overall performance. I felt that we had too many players that were below there usual high standards, and in the super league you need to be at your best every week to compete for points.
We are a young team, and we will continue to work hard and improve. Saturday’s home game to Penicuik cannot come soon enough, cause we’re all keen to get back to winning ways.
Thank you for the support..
