With darkness falling we couldn’t manage to do our post match interview with the manager for Panmure TV but we managed to catch up with Alan today for a quick chat about last nights win
A great result last night and the reward of a home Semi Final against Stonehaven to comeÂ
I was really pleased with our performance last night, I felt that we dominated large proportions of the game and were worthy winners in the end. We are delighted to be in the Semi Finals which gives us a chance of getting into the final against the winners of the other Semi between East Craigie and Hermes but we need to get past Stonehaven first
We have made the semi-final of the G A Engineering Cup on a few occasions in recent years but frustratingly we haven’t progressed, this year I believe the squad has matured and improved so we will be doing everything we can to get that place in the final.
Over the last couple of games there have been some excellent performances from those that have come in, it must make team selection difficult
We made a number of changes against Newtongrange a few weeks back and rotated the squad about, I think these changes have been key to recent results and performances. Other than Luke McGeehan who is injured and John Roberts who is serving a suspension, we have full pool of players and with the amount of games we have in the Super League and Cups we are going to be busy in the coming weeks.
With several impressive performances last night, who was your Man Of The Match
For me there were a lot of good performances but I would give the credit to Ryan Dignan aka Ziggy. He ran himself into the ground and was a constant threat all night for us.
The GA Cup goes on the back burner for a couple of weeks now and we move on to a tough trip to Penicuik at the weekend
Penicuik are a having yet another strong season challenging at the top end of the table and after last week’s demolition of Broxburn we are going to have to be ready for the challenge. We have done really well down there in recent years so I am hoping, on the back of two wins, we can use the confidence to continue the rich vein of form
