GAFFER PROUD OF MAN OF THE MATCH BAILEY

We earned what could prove to be a vital point today at Penicuik but it could and probably should have been more

I like to be open and honest when giving my assessment of the game and today I am frustrated that we did not win it. I did not think there was much in the first half with both teams cancelling each other out, however, the second half was different and we should score 2-3 goals and win the game comfortably. We had a spell for 20 minutes in the 2nd half where it was wave upon wave of attacks but just could not find a way passed Kyle Allison. Credit to Penicuik who with 10 men put us under pressure but other than one great save from Jamie Robbie from point blank range, he did not have much to contend with to be honest.

As you said Penicuik keeper Kyle Allison was in superb form to keep us at bay and no surprise that he was named their Man Of The Match

Kyle is a top goalkeeper and he was in incredible form today producing 3 or 4 top drawer saves that looked certain goals. Worthy winner for match of the match for them, another goal keeper in today and we score these goals.

Several impressive performances all over the park from the boys

I am very proud of my boys today, I feel that the way we pressed a top Penicuik side and put them under pressure was superb. The boys thoroughly deserved the point but should have taken 3. I felt that we did not have weakness in our performance today and I congratulate the boys for how well they did against a top side on a warm day.

You named Bailey Steel as your man of the match, he has come back in to the squad and is producing performances of maturity, way above his years

Bailey’s performance today was so pleasing to watch, he was playing against some very good experienced players but shone. Of his last 3 games this was the pick of the bunch, I felt that he did everything you want from a good centre midfielder by providing cover and being a threat going forward.

Delighted for him because he’s worked hard and that’s now paying off for him and the team with performances like today.

A break from the League again in midweek with the visit of Kirriemuir Thistle in the East Of Scotland Cup and then a big game against Jeanfield at Riverside next weekend

Games cannot come quick enough, we are now undefeated in the last 3 games and playing some great football. We’ll have a recovery session on Monday before we entertain Kirriemuir Thistle at home on Wednesday and we will look to continue the form. Saturday will take care of itself, we know what’s at stake.
