Such is the strength in the Carnoustie Panmure squad, manager Phil McGuire made four changes to the side that thrashed Tayport in the Midlands League for the visit of Dundee Violet to Laing Park in the Thorntons Property Cup, but the result was exactly the same as the Gowfers ran out 7-0 winners for the second game in a row.

The first goal came after eight minutes when a cross from Connor Coupe was smashed into his own net by Jay Taylor. Midway through the first half it was 2-0 with Gordon Macdonald scoring his second goal of the season. Carnoustie were dealt a blow just before half time with Steven McPhee taking a knock on his knee and he was replaced at the break by Jamie Winter.

Three minutes into the second half, Sam Simpson hit a sweet drive into the far corner to make it 3-0 then on 68 minutes Violet had the sight of Dale Reid and Ryan Dignan coming off the bench and it took Reid just nine minutes before scoring the fourth on 77 minutes before a Dignan cross drifted into the far corner, three minutes later. Connor Coupe scored the Gowfers sixth on 82 minutes before Reid grabbed his second and his 49th goal of the season, on 88 minutes to complete the 7-0 score line.

Carnoustie will now travel to Westview Park in the Second Round with the winners away to Lochee harp in the Quarter Finals
