Carnoustie Panmure remain in second place six points behind East Craigie with a  game in hand after a very comfortable 5-0 win against Downfield who had to play for over seventy minutes with ten men.

Gowfers boss Phil McGuire made just one change, Steven McPhee returned to the starting XI and Paddy Conway dropped to the bench.

Carnoustie got off to a flyer and with just five minutes on the clock, with Connor Coupe putting The Gowfers in front after good work on the left. Downfield’s task wasn’t made any easier when Jordan Garden was booked on ten minutes for a crude challenge and then, nine minutes later received a second booking after he pulled down Pat Martin. It took Carnoustie a while to get to grips with the ten men but added a second goal on 37 minutes when McArthur gave the keeper no chance and put the ball in to the top corner of his own net.

The second half was all Carnoustie with Jamie Winter pulling the strings and he was rewarded on 54 minutes when he rifled the ball home from 25 yards only to better that strike with twenty minutes remaining, crashing the ball home from over 30 yards. Substitute Robert Smith made his return after a bout of Covid and celebrated by cutting in from the left and striking the ball into the bottom corner with his right foot to complete the victory.
