Carnoustie 1 Broxburn 6
Once more Carnoustie’s horrendous injury list meant that they were up against it from the start and with work commitments as well as Danny Millars suspension added in to the mix, they were missing no less then 7 players who would undoubtedly started.
Broxburn were given an early chance to take the lead from the penalty spot but just like on Wednesday night against Broughty Athletic, Jamie Robbie saved well. The visitors did however take the lead on 13 minutes through Scott Richards and Zander Miller made it 2-0 on 23 minutes. Ryan Roche was somewhat harshly penalised for handball 30 yards from goal and Nick Locke fired the free kick in to Robbie’s far corner to make it 3-0 at the break.
Carnoustie started the second half well and pulled a deserved goal back on 49 minutes through Pat Smith, unfortunately it was just a brief respite as Miller got his second and Broxburns fourth on 55 minutes before substitute Scott McNaughton scored a late double on 85 and 89 minutes to put an unfair look on the scoreline.
