Carnoustie 0 Lochee 5
A reasonably even first half was the prelude to a very poor second half for Carnoustie’s injury hit squad.
The Gowfers included three trialists in the squad including Aaron Conway who started the game and 16 year old Ethan Coupar was on the bench.
The visitors enjoyed the best of the first 15 minutes before Carnoustie came in to the game. The visitors had the ball in the net just after the half hour when Conor Birse slotted the ball home from a McComiskie cross but the Assistants flag was in the air for offside.
The second half was all Lochee as the Thomson Park side dominated proceedings. Two goals from tormentor in chief Bryan Deasley, including a penalty after he had been brought down by Jamie Robbie, alongside efforts from Grant Lawson, Substitute Jamie Montgomerie and former Gowfer Danny Miller saw George Shields side to a comfortable victory. Sam Simpson was sent off midway through the second half after receiving a second booking to hinder any chances Carnoustie had at 2-0 down.
Alan McSkimming and his team have until Saturday to try and right the wrongs of this evenings performance when they face Broxburn United again at Laing Park.
