Carnoustie Panmure 4 Fauldhouse United 0

A dominant performance from Carnoustie saw them extend their run to one defeat from the last 13 league games following a 4-0 win over Fauldhouse United at Laing Park.

Alan McSkimming had demanded a reaction from his side after last weekends defeat to Tayport in the G A Engineering Cup and he got exactly what he had asked for as a blistering first half performance, blow away the visitors.

Sam Simpson scored the first goal on eleven minutes from the penalty spot after a United defender was penalised for handball and Jamie McCabe made it two when he curled a superb free kick in to the bottom corner from 25 yards on nineteen minutes. McCabe repeated the feat just after the half hour in to the same corner as his first and a minute later, Gordon Macdonald headed the fourth when he out jumped the visitors keeper.

Despite intense pressure, Carnoustie couldn’t add to their tally in the second half but equally were never in any danger, as they went up to seventh place in the Super League table.
