With safety from relegation tantalisingly close, Carnoustie are still three points away after going down to a controversial penalty against Jeanfield at Laing Park.
In a game devoured of any real goal mouth action, the only goal of the game came ten minutes in to the second half when Danny Millar was adjudged to have tripped John Anderson. Tony Holt stepped up and beat Jamie Robbie despite the Panmure keeper diving the right way.
Carnoustie were denied a late penalty themselves when Steven Cook appeared to be brought down by Mark Mitchell but Panmure appeals were waved away.
With Camelon only drawing at Linlithgow, anything but a win for the Falkirk side against Bo’ness in midweek will ensure Carnoustie’s place in the Super League for another season.
