PANNY BLINDED BY STAR

Carnoustie travelled to Newtongrange knowing that three points would almost certainly guarantee Super League football but returned still needing points and on the end of a 4-1 defeat.

Panmure should have been in front at half time but passed up at least two good chances to take the lead instead they sides went in level at 0-0.

The homeside took the lead on 56 minutes, Ryan Roche was penalised for a push on Sean Lally in the box and Jack Wilson converted the penalty. The Gowfers were level on 67 minutes, a 50 yard run by Robert Urquhart was abruptly halted in the box by Brian Murray, the referee once again pointed to the spot and Gordon Macdonald sent the keeper the wrong way to level things up. At this point Carnoustie switched off and allowed Newtongrange to restore their lead straight from the kick off with Kyle Lander taking advantage of slack defending to beat Jamie Robbie. Carnoustie failed to create any real chances and Lally helped himself to goals on 84 and 88 minutes to record a much needed victory for the home side.
