SKIMM PREVIEWS PETERSHILL

The Scottish Cup is one of my favourite competitions and one that Carnoustie have fond memories of when we won the competition back in 2004.  Last season we managed to get to the 5th Round (round before ¼ quarter finals) where we were narrowly beaten 3-2 at home to Auchinleck Talbot, so a number of the players had a good taste of the excitement the competition brings. Last season run has given the boys that extra hunger to try and go a step further this year and with the recent form there is no reason why we can’t.

Our 3rd round fixture gives us stiff opponents when we travel to the west region to play Petershill in a changed venue of St Anthony’s FC pitch. The change of venue came around due to Petershill’s  artificial pitch is being upgraded and in all honesty I was glad of the change and I think the boys were too because we all prefer to play on grass and with the change it sets us up perfectly.

We have a few injuries at the moment and few players with niggly injuries therefore the team selection will be late decision on Saturday
