The Gowfers secured their place in Round 2 of The East Of Scotland Cup and made it five consecutive wins with a dominant and comfortable 3-0 win at Hermand Park.
Manager Alan McSkimming made several changes to his side, Steven Cook, Luke McGeehan and Robert Urqhuart were given their first starts of the season alongside both Jake Mair and Paddy Conway who made their full debuts.
Carnoustie dominated the first half without the rewards but when Pat Martin was dumped to the ground in the box, unfortunately Urquharts penalty threatened passing aircraft rather more than the goal, as he skied his effort over the bar. The Gowfers took the lead shortly after when Steven Cook marked his return with a thunderous effort from 25 yards that the keeper didnt even move for. Marc Walker hit a great second before Mair reacted first to beat the keeper and nod the ball home in stoppage time.
Man Of The Match was Paddy Conway who showed exactly why he deserved his chance at a higher level with a majestic performance in the middle of the park
